Roc Nation: Empire State Of Mind

I WILL NOT LOSE !!!! was Jay Z's motto from the very beginning, and it has stuck with him ever since.
In 2008 Jigga linked up with Live Nation to create Roc Nation. Roc is also short for Roc A Fella Records in which Jay and Dame Dash (Stacey Dash's brother) formed together in the mid 90's . Roc A Fella went on to shell out some of the hottest artists in America like: Memphis Bleek, Freeway, Beanie Sigel, Amil, Kanye West, Rihanna, Teairra Mari, Dirt McGirt, Nicole Wray, Foxy Brown, Twista and it was rumored they were trying sign Big L before he passed. Now the Roc has a new sound, and a set of fresh new artists, producers, writers ect. Here they are in no particular order.

Static Major & Heavy D: Uptown Connection

Who would of thought Heavy D and Static Major are connected. How could this be you ask...Well it just so happens that Heavy D was responsible the signing of the group Jodeci. DeVante Swing was in Jodeci, and he discovered Playa ( a group Static was). Static went on to tour with Jodeci..which included Heavy D, Mary J Blige, Father MC, Christopher Williams on the ticket. Waterbed Hev had an artist on Uptown Records named Monifah and Static wrote a hook for her which ended up Ma$e's first album.
Heavy D & Static Major were A-likes as far as versatility. Hev raps and does a reggae sing song, Static sings, raps ,and has been known to spit some patois. Both artists are awesome writers, phenomenal producers, and very creative. Heavy gave us Jodeci, Static Major broke Lil Wayne to the next level with "Lollipop". Each have Platinum and Gold Plaques. Jay Z called upon both of them to do songs on his album. Chris Brown is a fan of both artists. Chris did a Heavy D rendition "Nuthin But Luv" and a Playa remake with Aaliyah "Don't Think They Know". Hev & Static were legendary..To bad they had to pass on. Each leaves a timeless legacy that will live on forever.

THE CORNISH CORNER..

As a child i have always been coming up to Hiram , Maine on weekends or stay the full summer. It has been a place of memories, scary storms, cozy winters, a place of healing, or even a boat fire rescue ect.. The surrounding areas such as Freedom, Hiram, Brownfield, Fryeburg, Parsonfield, Porter, and Cornish has been places for good friends, shopping, swimming, antiques, fairs, and other outdoor activities. The people here are quite hospitable. You wave to your neighbor , get a ride, share recipes or baked goods (homemade whoopie pies especially), meet local fisherman who can teach where the good fishing spots are.... It is home and it will always be home. Let me share these places with you.
